Extension 2 Tips:

Remember, these are just opinions. See Terms of use. These have been written by a Craville Studies team member.

  1. Know the syllabus. Extension 2 maths is probably the only maths subject where summarising the dot points is a big advantage. This is mainly due to the many proofs that need to be known. By summarising the dot points, you will find out what proofs are required and work out how to do them before the exam.

  2. Stay positive. Four unit can be stressful at times because it can be so hard.  I struggled all year, only scoring 52% in the trial HSC, but scored 89% in the actual exam. I didn't lift my study by that much, it's just that it can be hard to gauge where you actually are in four unit. Remember, four unit generally scales very well for the UAI.

  3. Do practice exams. One of the best ways to study for the HSC is by doing past HSC papers. It gives you an idea of the structure of the paper as well as what to expect.
