![]() Posts: 22 Group: Admin Skin: Default | Many people have noticed that we now have test yourself crossword puzzles here now.
However, some of these puzzles are cryptic crosswords and many people don't know how to solve them. We will show you now, don't worry, they're not hard. With cryptic clues, part of the clue gives away what the clue is asking and the other part gives away some or all of the letters involved. For instance, one of the clues in the physics test says: QUOTE:
Now, since this is a physics test, it is fairly safe to assume that the satellite's potential part is the clue bit. Satellite's potential could be: Height Gravity Gravitation Potential Energy Distance or any number of other things but since the second part of the clue says "is a peg" it becomes obvious that the answer to this question is GPE. As another non-physics example: QUOTE:
Australian tax = GST Concern could be: worry angst etc An Australian Tax An GST Angst Hope this helps ----------------- Craville Studies The Site for HSC subject links, tips and resources www.craville.110mb.com | ||
